The Little Boy who cried Wolf: The Complete Story

“They never noticed that he had made a complete fool of every one of them until the end when Rusty passed away.
Then they realized that they owned nothing, had no power and the churches were mostly empty.”

Story Behind The Book

I retired and live in Panama for now and had written a series of chess books for my students. Then the quarantine came. My day was , 1 Wake up and be thankful I was healthy 2 Check messages online 3 Watch news on tv 4 exercise 5 eat lunch 6 take a nap and 7 relax for the evening. Somewhere during that time of watching election coverage 2020 in the USA the idea for a childrens book came to mind. As a teacher I have always enjoyed reading stories that children would like but also had ideas which adults would find interesting. I enjoyed writing this and then watching as an illustrator took all my ideas and brought them to life. I am very happy with how everything turned out.

Book

In the story of the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf we never really know anything about the boy and why he did what he did. I always watched students and enjoyed meeting their parents. When you started to see the influences which impacted a child, you began to understand why they made certain choices. If a child had good parents who taught them to tell the truth and work hard , more often than not a  child would do just fine in life.

When you read about a child doing some terrible thing, some of the time the parents have let negative outside forces become a part of a child´s life. We tend to think of things like violence , drugs or criminal behavior but much of the time these negative influences come from the culture and the parents miss that.

Greed and a lack of compassion will ruin a society faster than criminal behavior. People might ask, “Where are Rustys parents in all of this?” They either chose not to be part of his life, or to encourage what he was doing. Either way the absence both parenting styles allowed Rusty to be formed by the world around him.
